  • I bought a stone lantern in Japan while serving in the Navy in the 1960s and had it shipped back to the States with other household goods. It has seen five moves since then, most recently to the Charleston area and was in pretty bad shape. Ivan and his wife Olga and their helper at Art of Stone did a fantastic job of restoration. They cleaned all five pieces and repaired three broken legs, a large chip and a broken top. Not only that, they treated the stone so it would stand up to the weather for another sixty years.
